Computer Aided Design
CAD is a process I use heavily in almost all of my design projects, as I find a 3D model is often the clearest way to communicate an idea without physically making it. I have also produced CAD models that have been 3D printed to create part of a model, as can be seen below.
This shows how I used SolidWorks to accurately model a water bottle with measurements embossed in the blow moulded bottle. To ensure these markings were accurate, I used the Mass Properties tool within the program to measure the internal volume of the bottle.
Another part of the same project involved creating a collapsible bowl made from folding silicone that had varying thicknesses, forming creases in the material. I made two different configurations of the product within the assembly, which can both be seen here, along with the sketches used to create their shapes.
This render was produced in PhotoView 360, although I also have experience using KeyShot. Each of the materials was given a separate texture, and I changed to give a realistic look.

This computer mouse design was part of a design for manufacture module, where the product's main function was the ability to be injection moulded at a low price. Both the shell and circuit board were modelled in SolidWorks, and rendered in PhotoView 360.
