Design For Manufacture-
Computer Mouse Project
May 2017
The intention for this project was to learn about a large variety of manufacturing techniques used in industry for various applications. This then let to me designing a computer mouse around an existing circuit board with the main purpose of the product for it to be injection moulded in mass quantities.

The final design consisted of two injection moulded parts made from ABS, both made from subtly different shades of grey to create aesthetic contrast. The ribs visible are 2/3rds of the thickness of the exterior walls in order to offer structural support, with a combination of bosses and screws holding the two shells together. This project was my first experience using SolidWorks, and so it taught me a lot about how the software works, as well as how to produce renders. The skills I learnt in this project were vital in some of my later CAD related projects.
