Video Editing

Although not strictly related to product design, I find video editing an extremely useful tool for presenting ideas, concepts or even video essays, such as those found on my YouTube channel. I use professional video editing software, as well as motion effects including tracking, stabalistion, and transitions in my videos to give them a professional feel. I also have experience creating video product renders using KeyShot. Here is a short selection of some of the videos featured on my channel, all of which I made in my spare time.

Surface Book 2 Concept

This video came about as a result of my keen interest in Microsoft's range of "Surface" devices. It features a lot of my own hand-drawn sketches, and suggests various features that I felt would improve the original product, several of which ended up coming true when the device was unveiled in October 2017.

Bose QuietComfort 15 Headphones Review

This short video review goes over some of my favourite features and design aspect of a pair of headphones I have owned and used daily for well over 5 years. This is an excellent example of how a product that is well designed can last for a long time, and still hold up with modern competitors, over 9 years after

Microsoft Surface Book 2 Early Access

In November 2017, I was fortunate enough to attend Microsoft's "Future Decoded" conference held in London, where I got the chance to listen to many very interesting speakers. Among these was Panos Panay, a personal idol of mine, where he unveiled the Surface Book 2 to the UK. I also got a chance to try using the device for the first time, several weeks before it officially went on sale. The video shows my early thoughts on the product during my brief time with it.

Microsoft Surface Accessories

This video is by far my most popular to date, and it showcases four accessories that can be used in conjunction with Microsoft Surface products including a laptop sleeve, a hidden storage drive and a USB stick ballpoint pen. I was keen to educate people about affordable products I had found from lesser known brands, that they might otherwise have never heard about.

The channel has helped my improve my presenting skills, which I have found useful when practicing pitches to clients. It has also aided my visual presentation skills, as I gave the channel a set theme which I tried to stick when creating visual effects and thumbnails for the videos. This theme creates a sense of uniformity, helping to make a recognisable brand, something I have also implemented into my design work.

I have also set up an Instagram account under the same name to showcase my work.
